Once again Tom Woodruff climbed into an animal suit, this time he was the lion. The lion was built for medium and close-up shots for expressions. Tom Woodruff was inside it controlling the front leg movements. Two other puppeteers controlled the neck movements and three other puppeteers controlled the facial articulation of this lion. It was make mostly with synthetic fur and the design as with all the design of all the animals in Jumanji was meant to look like it could have come from a child's nightmare. Everything was slightly stylized in that film accordingly.
