Burt always seems to be very against the idea of capturing and researching the various graboid life forms. Yet he often finds himself blind-sided by their unique and unexpected changes in behavior. Seems like he’d be more open to learning about them.

The TV series kind of unfairly slants Burt in that way. For example he’s against Dr Megan Flint’s shrieker project because he feels the scientists don’t appreciate the level of danger. However, it is quite right that Burt is all about studying your enemy and being prepared. We feel that he’s probably followed all of Rhonda’s graboid studies quite closely and would not disparage the right sort of shrieker or ass blaster research — IF it were done according to his exacting standards.
