We’re getting MANY versions of this question. We don’t have an answer. It will depend on what movie gets made, if any, and Universal’s level of cooperation, if any. For now (May 2025) let’s just hope it leads to a new movie!

Since the Tremors 2 Arrow 4K sold so well, will there be a Tremors 3 and 4 remaster in the future?
Entirely up to Universal Studios, and they never tell us their plans.
Would Burt hate people in the LGBTQ community?
Burt is somewhat paranoid, but ultimately quite fair. He might be mystified by their choices, but would absolutely support their freedom to do what they want. Just he wants to do!
What are your favourite in-jokes, callbacks or references you snuck into the saga?
It’s not something we did a lot, aside from trying to make the rules of the creatures consistent for our four movies. One fairly obvious one was having an earlier Old Fred be a victim in Tremors 4. Also bringing back John Pappas (road worker in Tremors 1) for a different role in Tremors 3.
What would you say is the overall theme of the Tremors saga? Or the one that you wish fans to take away from this series the most.
We don’t start from theme when we write. We start from story or a given set of circumstances (What if there was an underground monster sort of like a shark?). Then we flesh out characters. In the case of Tremors we deliberately tried to make the characters NOT the cliches they’d be in a 50s monster movie, for example. That then drove other decisions. People sometimes see and assign themes to our work after the fact, but it’s not something we consciously try to implement.
Did Burt get to keep the dual .50 anti-aircraft mount for killing all the Shriekers in South America? And what would you say is Burt’s favorite firearm cartridge?
No, Burt did not keep the AA gun, though he probably wanted to. As to Burt’s favorite cartridge, there can be no single one! Defense? Small game? Big game? Plinking? Target? The only one we’re sure of is for Graboid: the 50 BMG.
What would it cost to buy the rights to show the Tremors TV series?
No easy way to predict. It would be entirely up to what owners Universal/Sci-Fi want to charge.
If you had actually gotten to make T-5, would it have been presented in a different aspect ratio from 1.85:1?
Yes, we’d have pushed for that format.
Are wrist seismos a real thing or just made up and watches were used to represent the prop?
Made up. We needed an easy believable way for people to keep safe from El Blanco and lead halfway normal lives in Perfection. That said, the tech exists for a smart watch to receive data from seismographs (permanently placed around the valley) and display it.
Do you have other ideas for different variations of graboids, shriekers, and assblaster for different locations around the world? Could they be located in other locations besides deserts?
Now that we have the rights to the original script and maybe have a shot at making some new version of Tremors, we are indeed thinking about those things. But it’s still early stages. (May 2025)
Was there a scene with the telephone workers being eaten or was it always just implied?
Nope. No scene written or shot. Just implied.
Was the seismograph they use to track the graboids around the refinery and in particular the one that Earl carries made up for the movie or a real piece of equipment?
Sort of made up, but based on real tech. In the movie you see video monitors, not seismographs. The full idea is that there are seismographs based around the area that are always recording and sending data. Their signals get triangulated and then transmitted to the monitors.
Do the perfectionists celebrate El blancos birthday?
Uh — they have no idea when he was born. So probably not.
Did Susan Chuang come up with the assblaster name herself? That would totally be Sue!
No, it was always in the script.
as Rhonda going to vomit after seeing Walter get eaten up?
Well, Finn Carter, always “in the moment” in her scenes, did a very convincing “gag” expression. So, it was close, but then she had to escape.
What did you use for the dirt when you were using miniatures? Because it looks really well scaled, especially when it’s circling the rock.
Our miniature team, headed by Bob and Dennis Skotek used, I believe, Fuller’s earth for dirt, a very fine powder-like material.
What kind of products could be made from the Graboid life forms? Clothing? Unusual medicines?
Well, that’s certainly a new question. Presumably there is the potential for the strange life form to be a source of unusual proteins or compounds that might have medical value. Perhaps Rhonda is looking into it. And we accept there could be something like a shreiker-skin jacket. But on a practical side, the creatures are so rare that any products would almost have to be one-offs for the super rich — and there would certainly be push-back from environmentalists against any such exploitation!
When you first came up with Tremors did you expect the character Burt to become so beloved?
No. It’s been an ongoing fun evolution. Originally he was just one member of our quirky community. A lot of credit, of course, has to go to Michael Gross for bringing the lines on the page to life.
Did the AB Messerschmidt still have its egg during the events of Tremors the Series or was it dissected from it in Vegas?
We don’t think the AB’s Vegas owners would have allowed anything harmful done to him. It does raise the question of how long an AB’s egg is viable — not something we have given much thought to!
Why are Assblasters so aggressive? Being the egg-carrying subset of the species with a vulnerability to eating, would it not make more sense that they are only violent when say guarding a nest or self-defense?
It’s an interesting theory, though doesn’t make for as scary a monster. Our defense would be, having just emerged from their shreiker chrysalis, they are very aggressive until they get enough food.
In Tremors the Series, Jodi drives a red truck that looks an awful lot like Rhonda’s truck in Tremors 1. Knowing Jodi’s penchant for merchandising opportunities, is it possible she bought Rhonda’s truck off her as a way to capitalize on a touristy attraction akin to Desert Jack’s Graboid Adventure?
It’s not something we thought about. And we probably didn’t have a lot of choices for production vehicles in our Mexico location. All that aside, it’s perfectly reasonable idea. So — yes!
How long does it take to drive from Perfection to where the construction workers died and where Edgar died?
It’s 38 miles to Bixby, so all other distances are quite a bit less. We never worked it out specifically. But let’s say it’s 10 miles to the narrow canyon road worker site. So might take 15-20 minutes to get there on the slow-ish road. Edgar’s tower and Old Fred’s place are even closer.
How long have Miguel’s cows been going missing?
The pace of the first film is pretty fast. The graboids have not been around very long as the story gets going. So it’s only over a week or so that Miguel first notices some cattle have disappeared.
Do you have any of the original scripts for the TV series? Was Rosalita gonna be bad character or just a person on the run?
Hopefully some original scripts exist somewhere, but we at Stampede didn’t end up with copies. We worked on computers and most hard copies were printed in Mexico. There were no scripts for future episodes, just discussions of ideas. While we weren’t planning to make Rosalita “bad” we did have the idea that she turns out not to be related to Miguel and has kind of illegally taken over his ranch and has to fess up when the other Perfectionistas find out.
How many shriekers were blown up on the warehouse?
We don’t know! They had a ton of food, so were procreating very rapidly. We’ve never established how quickly they get to full size after multiplying. Let’s say it would have been at least double the number we see when Earl creeps through the warehouse to get the bomb.
